Steve Jones

Chief Operating Officer

Steve was appointed our Chief Operating Officer in June 2017.

Steve came to Working Links in 2009 with 30 years’ experience in running companies in the UK and internationally and a proven record in profitable growth and effective world class operations.


As Operations Support Director, Steve was responsible for commissioning, supply chain management, quality and customer service. In that role, Steve project managed the implementation of Work Programme including developing a model office to test solutions. Steve also led on the development of our commissioning strategy and partnership performance management framework; the implementation of the Working Links Quality Management System; and a refresh of our employer strategy. 

Steve ran the service design and the commissioning of a supply chain for the Transforming Rehabilitation contracts. 

As Transformation Director, Steve oversaw Transformation – the huge project to transform the way we work following our acquisition of the three Community Rehabilitation Companies (CRCs) – to its completion in May 2017. This project included a full review of our estates; the implementation of Operational Hubs, new operational processes and new IT infrastructure and hardware, new systems in payroll, marketing and learning management; and the roll out of training events. 

Steve also led on the implementation of the Links to Work contracts.
